Chemical Supply and
Service Network
JFE Engineering has been developing a global service network cooperating with reliable partners who have a rich history of experience and expertise in marine industries; Mashin Shokai Co., ISS Machinery Services Ltd. (Inch Cape Shipping Services Group) and IMC (Japan Marine United Group). We support every vessel with JFE BallastAce wherever they may be in the world. Through this extensive network, JFE provides chemical supply and maintenance services, as well as repairs, spare and replacement parts, and technical support.
The network will still continue developing in order to provide accessible support to each vessel installed with JFE BallastAce BWMS wherever they may sail, throughout the lifetime of the vessel.

Retrofitting
JFE Engineering has been soundly and steadily accumulating retrofitting experience both home and abroad (Japan, China, Singapore, Turkey, Portugal, etc.) since the first retrofitting project success was carried out in 2010. We have the technical know-how to deal with numerous types and sizes of ships such as Bulkers, Tankers, and Vehicle Carriers.
We continue to build and nurture a cooperative relationship between marine engineering companies worldwide in order to enable rapid startup support of retrofitting projects, involving our partners from the very initial phases of surveying, 3D Scanning, and feasibility studies. Over the course of each project we closely work with the customer’s technical department and chosen engineering company or yard – and with our extensive experience on top we are capable of bringing any retrofit project to a successful conclusion.

Example of a project schedule
This shows an example of a typical project schedule and the respective players’ roles. It can change according to each project. The lead time in the fabrication of the BWMS is planned to be shortened to even more quickly respond to needs of urgent delivery when the market rapidly grows.

Customer Services
JFE Engineering pledges to continuously enhance the supporting network available to each vessel installed with JFE BallastAce throughout its lifetime. These services and training services can be combined into customized services for your vessel.
- ■Maintenance / Repair Service
- We dispatch our engineers to carry out status checks, calibrations, or evaluations of functions as well as any necessay maintenance and periodical maintenance work in order to ensure that your JFE BallastAce is functioning according to type approval.
- ■Recommissioning
- Many vessels have chosen not to use their ballast water treatment systems until required to do so by international or U.S. regulation.
If your JFE BallastAce system has been inactive for a long period, it may have developed faults that could lead to non-compliance of regulations. We offer recommissioning services which includes a package of maintenance work and functional evaluations to ensure that your vessel is in full compliance with current regulations. Requesting recommissioning in advance of a vessel’s compliance date is recommended.
